Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS)
The "Systemically Therapy with the Internal Family" is developed in the USA by Prof. Dr. Richard Schwartz, a family therapist. This method refers the concept of the systemically family therapy with the internal psychologically world of each individual..
The IFS-modell assumes that every human has different parts of personality. Those parts are interacting similarly like family members are interacting. That is the reason why this method is called "Internal Family Systems Therapy".
The personality is seen as a system of many parts, we can recognize through our thoughts, our emotions, body feelings, etc. While we learn to know them better (and appreciate them), we could change those parts. This means that we are able to get rid of sorrows, that we can relax, that we 'invite' new qualities, and that we are able to 'arrive' in the present.
A basic assumtion of this therapy is also, that everybody owns a 'self-being' in the inner body, what is different to the parts. Main goal of the therapy is to recover and strenghten confidence in self-leading.
